Ciardelli Fuel Company traces its beginning back to 1957 when its founding father, Earnest (Babe) Ciardelli's entrepreneurial spirit got the best of him.

Babe financed his project by taking out a mortgage on his mother's house on Nashua Street in Milford and along with his nephew Albert Eugene, “Chick” Ciardelli, they purchased a small local oil company and started the Ciardelli Fuel Company.

In 1957 “Chick” and “Babe” serviced six towns delivering 200,000 gallons of fuel, and they became known by their slogan “Chick and Babe, We're the Birds to Call.”
